What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy uses a state of deep relaxation to help people heal traumas and make positive changes in their lives. Standard forms of therapy include a lot of talking and engaging with the conscious mind. Standard therapy can take weeks or months, because people are encouraged to talk about their experiences. They may be reliving these negative experiences each time they speak about them leaving them feeling perhaps unhappy, angry or frustrated. Our memories are stored in our unconscious minds as are our thoughts, habits and feelings. Hypnotherapy is getting direct access to these issues without talking about them again and again. This way, most people can change habits and heal issues without re-living them.
Why is hypnotherapy effective?
Hypnotherapy is effective because it can reach the root of an issue with ease and comfort, all the time allowing the person to remain deeply relaxed. Wouldn’t you like to make positive changes while feeling calm and relaxed? If you knew you could let go of old baggage comfortably and easily, without the pain and grief, wouldn’t you do it? Hypnotherapy makes change possible, quickly and safely. Hypnotherapy allows people to:
- Heal old traumas (memories from negative events)
- Change bad habits (smoking, over eating etc)
- Heal fears and phobias
- Enhance their capabilities
Hypnosis makes all this possible because it reaches the POWERHOUSE of your mind. Communicating directly with unconscious mind allows you to make changes and then notice your habits changing on the conscious or talking and doing level without any struggle.
How does hypnotherapy work?
How hypnotherapy works
Hypnotherapy allows the person to utilize their OWN imagination helping them to find their own inner solutions. When someone wants to make a real change in their life, hypnotherapy makes the process all the more easy and comfortable.
Why go through struggle when you don’t have to?
Hypnotherapy uses the power of gentle suggestion, stories, and metaphor to create changes. Hypnosis will allow you to make changes in days or weeks that could otherwise take years.
Can I be hypnotised?
Who can be hypnotised
Virtually anyone can experience the state of trance. As said earlier, trance is something we all experience in our everyday lives. However, hypnotherapy is a formal undertaking when you go to a hypnotherapist. Here the premise is that you have confidence and trust in the person who is going to work with you. Your level of trust in the hypnotherapist you choose will have a bearing on whether you experience trance or not. When you have identified that you are willing to have the support of someone, and feel a need for it, then you will more than likely find someone you trust. The process will then give you beneficial results.
How will I know I’ve been hypnotised?
How hypnosis feels
Every trance you experience will be different. Many elements affect the trance you experience; your mood, what’s on your mind, what you’re working on, can all have a bearing on the quality of trance you experience. Some times you may feel that you haven’t been hypnotised at all. However deep or light your trance, you will experience a result. Results materialise but it may take a little while for you to notice them. Hypnotherapy works but it is not magic. Your results will depend on your willingness to make the changes. The more willing you are, the greater the benefits you will enjoy.

Are there different types of hypnotherapy?
Types of hypnotherapy
Hyno-analysis has been called “the cream of therapies” because it doesn’t only deal with the presenting problem but has the happy knack of resolving many issues all at the same time. It has its roots in the “free association” technique developed by Freud. It is necessary to see a client for several sessions so that a full picture of their life (and particularly their childhood) can be understood. The whole process is client-led. I only act as a guide to help you work through your own processes, which may result in a cathartic experience or experiences (“abreaction”).
